Tape on Your Glasses is Necessary for Entrance!

As we bundle up for the winter time, let's consider some new traditions: instead of warming up in front of a fireplace, why not in front of computer on Ned's Nerd Herd? With something for everybody, this winter won't feel cold at all if you stop by NNH every once and a while for some holiday cheer :)

Best Wishes?!?

Several advances have been made in the Nintendo arena as of today! Gaming magazine giant Nintendo Power revealed the name of three new Pokémon: Excadrill (Japan: Doryuuzu), Sewaddle (Japan: Kurumiru), and Alomomola (Japan: Mamanbou). The “High Link” feature is now also called “Entralink.”For those who don’t know, it is a side mode of the game similar to locales like the Sinnoh Underground in which you can wirelessly compete with friends in missions.

It has also been revealed that the "Ash's Pikachu" event has been extended so that it runs from January 30th to February 15th, a whole extra week of download time. That means that we don't have to run from GameStop toToys R' Us right away to get our favorite game mascot! Thanks for the breathing room, Nintendo :) Because of such, the "EVENT PARTY TIME :)" article has been updated.

The Nintendo 3DS has also been slated for a March 27th release in North America at a price of $249.99! Much like the Wii’s “Virtual Console,” Gameboy and Gameboy Advanced “Virtual Console” games will shortly be available via internet connection once the 3DS is on the market. In the colors of Aqua Blue and Obsidian Black, the 3DS will have an enhanced web browser and reportedly the next line of Pokémon games are going to be platformed strictly on it (not to cause panic though, this is a rumor).  Conveniently, Friend Codes will be assigned to the 3DS from now on instead of unique FC’s per game with a similar system in use, therefore eliminating the hassle of having multiple codes for various Nintendo games. The handheld will arrive in Europe two days earlier on March 25th for £229.99.

The name of the new Pokémon anime has been leaked, and unlike Japan’s Best Wishes, the English version will simply be titled Pokémon Black and White. Taking place in the Unova region based off metropolis New York, Ash once again starts fresh with all new Pokémon (spare Pikachu of course) and a new girl sidekick (Ash sounds like a… well, you get it). Dento  and Iris’ (who replaced Brock and Dawn, respectively) regional names have yet to be announced, but news is sure to come soon with only 3 episodes of Sinnoh League Victors left in the United States.

There you have it! New consoles, the anime, and games all got covered today. I can’t wait for what looks like an exciting two months to come!
