Tape on Your Glasses is Necessary for Entrance!

As we bundle up for the winter time, let's consider some new traditions: instead of warming up in front of a fireplace, why not in front of computer on Ned's Nerd Herd? With something for everybody, this winter won't feel cold at all if you stop by NNH every once and a while for some holiday cheer :)

Time Warp!

It's 2011 now and I promise to be a more dedicated blogger from now on if Ned's Nerd Herd has any chance at making it in this technological world! So, can anyone wait for Pokémon Black and White? The newest Pokémon more-or-less officially announced are Braviary (Japan: Wargle), Patrat (Japan: Minezumi), Gothitelle (Japan: Gochiruzeru), Reuniclus (Japan Rankurusu), Cofagrigus (Japan: Desukan), Drilbur (Japan: Mogurew), Axew (Japan: Kibago), Woobat (Japan: Koromori), and Musharna (which kept its Japanese name). Axew will take the longest to get used to because I've grown to know and love the name Kibago. A bunch of Pokémon move-related names have been released too, and the fan pages are swarming with news.

Back to the usual, the Japanese Pokémon: Best Wishes episode “Shippou City Gym Rematch! Explosive New Move!!” aired today. In it, Ash took on the Gym Leader Aloe for the second time. Both exciting and dramatic, the episode left even me guessing so it is one I would not miss. But next week is sure to be even better though because…. ASH’S EGG IS HATCHING! Yes “The Wild Child that Hatched from the Egg” is premiering on January 20th. I’m a sucker when it comes to new Pokémon team members, and the 6th and final member of Ash’s team for now is an exciting plot marker. For puritans who don’t want to know what the egg is- too bad! Every Pokémon fan that does their research will see it at some point, accidentally or not. The newest BW team member is Zuruggu, a gangster-panted yellow lizard with no official English name yet. In the United States, the Pokémon: Sinnoh League Victors episode “Battling a Thaw in Relations” airs on January 15th. It contains the epic rival battle finale between Ash and Paul. I know who wins already, and it’s a pretty exciting episode J It’s oddly sad, and my eyes “watered” a little… Now, I propose a toast to March 6th, when we’ll be launched into Generation V of Pokémon! LONG LIVE PIKACHU J!
