Reshiram and Zekrom Return! (Axew's Anime!)

For those of you with the English langue games (American, European, Australian), a new WiFi event has been announced. This download provides a special Level 100 Reshiram or Zekrom for your games. If you have Pokémon Black, you get Zekrom while if you have Pokémon White, you'll get Reshiram. These Pokémon are to be Level 100 which indicates that this is an international occurrence of the Movie Event Reshiram & Zekrom that came in July last year in Japan which had the special moves of Blue Flare, Fusion Flare, Mist & Draco Meteor and Bolt Strike, Fusion Bolt, Haze & Outrage respectively. This event is to run from March 10th 2012 to April 8th 2012. Like the Japanese counterparts, these event Pokémon will access the special Pokémon Movie Home on the Dream World to access new C-Gear skins.


*EDIT: this event has also been confirmed for Europe, making it the first BW European event since the Liberty Pass distribution early last year*


In Axew's Anime next week, the upcoming Japanese Pokémon: Best Wishes episode airs on March 8th and is entitled "Obstacle Breakthrough! Climb the Tower of the Sky!!" In the episode, the gang enters yet another side Pokemon contest, running into a rival or two will in Mistralton City. As for the United States, Pokémon Black and White: Rival Destinies continues with "Ash Versus the Champion" on March 10th. The episode reveals the Champion of the Unova region- Alder. The episode is BW052.

Meloetta and Rayquaza! with Ducklett

Following the quiet unveiling of Meloetta on the M15 poster, the Melody Pokemon was officially revealed today on Japanese show Oha Suta as Pokemon #648 in the Pokedex. She has since received official artwork by Ken Sugimori.

In honor of the upcomign release of Pokemon + Nobunaga's Ambition in Japan, a new Wi-Fi event will soon commence for those with Japanese copies of the game. From March 17th to April 16th, a shiny Rayquaza will be given away based off the in-game Rayquaza owned by Nobunaga in the game. Knowing Dragon Pulse, Dragon Dance, Ancientpower, and Outrage, this Legendary Pokemon will arrive at Level 70 in a Cherish Ball. Aside from Wi-Fi, Rayquaza will also be given away via the Pokemon BW Searcher tour in Japan.

Lastly, a new C-Gear skin has been released in Japan featuring three Duckletts. The skin does not require a password to unlock and is available until April 27th. Get it while you can!

MASS ANNOUNCEMENT: Pokemon Black and White 2, Kyurem Forms, Meloetta, and M15 (Axew's Anime!)

In a massive announcement, Junichi Masuda went on Pokemon Smash yesterday and unveiled two new Pokemon games for Generation V. Bypassing the predicted "Gray Version," he revealed the two games to be entitled Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2. The release of these games in Japan will coincide with the premiere of the 15th Pokemon Movie: June 2012. International release will follow in Autumn 2012.

And the next big question answered: version mascots. The two Pokemon gracing the covers of these games are named Black Kyurem and White Kyurem, respectively. These two Pokemon will star in the 15th Pokemon Movie together with Keldeo. The new movie poster can be seen here.

The poster also confirms the existence of Meloetta, the Melody Pokemon, at the bottom. According to the poster, the Legendary Normal/Physic-type will star in her own Pokemon short, Meloetta's Sparkling Recital.

In Axew's Anime next week, the upcoming Japanese Pokémon: Best Wishes episode airs on March 1st and is entitled "Mistralton Gym! Decisive Aerial Battle VS Skyla!!" In the episode, Ash challenges Flying-type Gym Leader Skyla to a Gym Battle. As for the United States, Pokémon Black and White: Rival Destinies continues with "Lost at the Stamp Rally!" on March 3rd. The plot of the episode revolves around the Subway Stamp Rally, which leads the gang to a battle against Emmet and Ingo. The episode is BW051.

Slipping under the radar for me at least, a new Pokemon event will be available in Japan this spring to commemorate the opening of the new Kyushu Bullet Train. Details can be read here. Highlights include a Pikachu with the move Extremespeed, a Groudon, and a Kyogre.

No New is Good News? (Axew's Anime!)

In Axew's Anime next week, the upcoming Japanese Pokémon: Best Wishes episode is entitled "Mistralton Gym Air-Battle! Challenger Cilan!?" It airs on February 23rd, and in the episode, Cilan challenges Flying-type Gym Leader Skyla to a Gym Battle. As for the United States, Pokémon Black and White: Rival Destinies continues with "Dazzling the Nimbasa Gym!" on February 25th. The plot of the episode revolves around Ash's 3-on-3 Gym Battle with the Electric-type Leader, Elesa.The episode is BW050.

Keldeo Revealed!

Leaked scans of an upcoming issue of Japanese magazine CoroCoro revealed today the existence of Colt Pokemon, Keldeo. The Water-Fighting-type member of the Muskedeer Pokemon is will be prominently featured in the upcoming Pokemon movie, entitled Kyurem VS the Sacred Swordsmen Keldeo. The movie premieres in Japan this summer on July 14th, 2012.

International, GO! (Axew's Anime!)

The Pokemon Company has announced the first-ever internationally-based Pokemon Battle Competition via Wi-Fi! The International Challenge is open to players with access to Wi-Fi, and registration for the event takes place from March 15th to March 21st. The Challenge is open for battling from March 22nd to March 26th. Register quickly, as only 50,000spots are available, with 25,000 being reserved for Japanese players. Another tournament will also take place in Japan via Wi-Fi this month. Called the Japan Cup- 2012 Spring Wi-Fi Tournament, players will compete to qualify for the World Championship this summer. More information will come when it is made known.

In Axew's Anime next week, the upcoming Japanese Pokémon: Best Wishes episode is entitled "Afro, GO! Bouffalant, NO!!" It airs on February 16th, and in the episode, Pikachu and the Pokemon gang devise a plot involving afros to avoid the wrath of a nearby Bouffalant herd. As for the United States, Pokémon Black and White: Rival Destinies premieres with "Enter Elesa, Electrifying Gym Leader!" on February 18th. The episode is considered BW049.

Zekrom and Reshiram Return!

In the Netherlands on February 18th, various V&D stores will be distributing the opposite version mascots to players of Pokemon Black and White. This means that if you play Pokemon White, you will have the rare opportunity to receive Reshiram; likewise, if you play Pokemon Black, you will be able to obtain Zekrom. An international counterpart for this event is yet to be announced, but considering that this event occurred in Japan last summer, the chances of one are high. Information, if any, will be posted as soon as it is available.

Klink, Klang, ARCEUS

[The Arceus discussed here will be given away during the entire month of February until May 1st. This is an international event, and anyone outside of Japan will be able to access it with a non-Japanese copy of Pokemon Black or White via the Global Link.]

A C-Gear skin based off the Pokemon, Klink, will be given away in Japan from today until March 27th via the Global Link. The event does not need a password. The international equivalent of the skin has yet to be announced, but will be posted as soon as the information is available.

Rival Destinies! (Axew's Anime!)

In Axew's Anime this week, the upcoming Japanese Pokémon: Best Wishes episode is entitled "Double Battle! Pikachu & Krokorok VS Scolipede & Seismitoad!!" It airs on January 26th, and in the episode, Ash and Pikachu join forces with the Sunglasses Krokorok to battle against a Scolipede and a Seismitoad. As for the United States, Pokémon: Black and White is now over and will be succeeded by Pokémon Black and White: Rival Destinies. New episodes begin with "Charismatic Gym Leader Appears! Elesa Enters!!" on February 18th. The episode is considered BW049.

*please note that the English name for "Charismatic Gym Leader Appears! Elesa Enters!!" has not been yet revealed, and therefore the Japanese name was given as a substitute. The name will be updated when released.

Mewtwo Strikes Back!

Like the Mewtwo from last October in Japan, a Mewtwo will be given away from February 12th to February 26th in North America and Europe. As promised, it will be Level 70; it will also have the moves Psystrike, Shadow Ball, Aura Sphere, and Electro Ball. The legendary Pokemon will be distributed via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

Investigation Time! (Axew's Anime!)

In Axew's Anime this week, the upcoming Japanese Pokémon: Best Wishes episode is entitled "The Black Hero's Ruins! Sigilyph and Cofagrigus!!" It airs on January 26th, and in the episode, Ash and friends meet Professor Juniper's father, Cedric Juniper. Together, they investigate some special ruins where the Black Hero Zekrom is rumored to have once lived. As for the United States, Pokémon: Black and White is on an indefinite hiatus that will eventually end with the long-awaited appearance of the Electric-type Gym Leader, Elesa.

Rayquaza and Arceus Return!

Because it won in the Japanese Pokemon Popularity Poll, Rayquaza will be given away from February 10th to 28th. As promised, it will be Level 100 and hold a Life Orb; it will also have the moves Extremespeed, Hyper Beam, Dragon Pulse, and rather shockingly, Victini's signature move V-create. The international winner of the contest, Arceus, will be given away during the entire month of February rather than only Japan's select dates. Arceus has no item, but will have the moves Recover, Hyper Beam, Perish Song, and Judgement available to use.

Doesn't It Bug You When... (Axew's Anime!)

In Axew's Anime this week, the upcoming Japanese Pokémon: Best Wishes episode is entitled "Trade Evolution! Escavalier and Accelgor!!" It airs on January 19th, and in the episode, Bianca continues her adventure with the gang as she is eager to trade her newly-acquired Shelmet for Professor Juniper's Karrablast, which in the process would evolve the two of them. However, things don't turn out quite as expected, and mayhem ensues with her new Escavalier. As for the United States, Pokémon: Black and White is on an indefinite hiatus that will eventually end with the long-awaited appearance of the Electric-type Gym Leader, Elesa.

Crustle x2 and Lucario, Too (Axew's Anime!)

Two new events are taking place on the Global Link:

For those in Japan or with Japanese versions of the game, a new Crustle-themed C-Gear skin will be available from now until February 29th, 2012. No password is needed to obtain the skin, so just login to your GL account and take a gander at the promotion section.

And for those in North America, a Lucario at Level 10 with the Hidden Ability Justified and the otherwise unobtainable move Bullet Punch will be distributed. The caveat of the event is as follows, however: only those who purchase a copy of Pokemon Black or White from the retailer Target between January 15th until April 30th will be able to gain ownership of a Lucario. With the sales of these games, a single-use serial code will be given away to unlock the Pokemon under the promotion section of the Global Link.

Between a Rock and a Hard Place! (Axew's Anime!)

In Axew's Anime this week, the upcoming Japanese Pokémon: Best Wishes episode is entitled "Underground Gym Battle! VS Clay!!" It airs on January 5th, and in the episode, Ash enters battle against the Driftveil City Gym Leader, the Ground-type Leader named Clay. As for the United States, on January 7th, the episode "Battle for the Underground" will air. This episode continues the Subway Boss story plot, taking Ash and friends all over Nimbasa City to find Team Rocket and the stolen Subway Pokemon. It is the forty-eighth episode of Pokémon: Black and White.
