I love television sometimes. There are a lot, and I mean A LOT, of weird or bad shows on TV these days, but the Pokémon anime has been a mainstream staple for age groups since it aired. That’s no exception with Pokémon: Black and White, which keeps the same Ash-on-his-journey formula. I love the new theme song, too (the song’s on the short side, but the animation more than makes up). Pokémon: Black and White continues with its 3rd episode on February 19th, which is “A Sandile Gusher of Change!” This episode marks the capture of Ash’s Oshawott and the gang’s first run-in with a sunglasses-sporting Sandile (the Sandile is somewhat of a stalker, and I suspect that either Cilan or Iris will catch it). Because last week was just a rerun for Japan, the Pokémon: Best Wishes saga is still scheduled to air the upcoming “Sommelier Showdown! Dwebble versus Dewott!”
In the movie arena, the shonen boys magazine CoroCoro leaked information regarding a potential new Pokémon movie called Victini and the White Hero; Reshiram. This information somewhat coincides with the movie earlier announced- Victini and the Black Hero; Zekrom. Nintendo has yet to say if these movies are actually two shorter, back-to-back films or actually two separate, full-length films. Either way, this strategic move was unforeseen by “Pokémaniacs” globally. Only time will solve this perplexing array of news.
And finally, I was slow to post this, but the official Elite Four names have been released, including the Champion of the Unova region and the leader of Team Plasma.
Elite Four and Champion: Shauntal (Japan: Shikimi), Grimsley (Japan: Giima), Marshal (Japan: Renbuu), Caitlin (Japan: Katorea), and Alder (Japan: Adeku).
Team Plasma Leader: Ghetsis (Japan: Geechisu)
