Tape on Your Glasses is Necessary for Entrance!

As we bundle up for the winter time, let's consider some new traditions: instead of warming up in front of a fireplace, why not in front of computer on Ned's Nerd Herd? With something for everybody, this winter won't feel cold at all if you stop by NNH every once and a while for some holiday cheer :)

Axew's Anime! (The New Update Postings)

Because of extraneous circumstances (and my own forgetfulness), I neglected to post anything about the last round of Japanese and English anime. So, without further adeu, here are last week's episodes summarized for your convience:

Last week, the Pokémon: Best Wishes storyline progressed in "Castelia City- Venipede Panic!" In it, Ash met up with resident Gym Leader Burgh and encountered a large group of migrating Venipede. Along with his rival Trip, the gang took care of the insect invasion. When pushed to its extreme, Pidove even evolved into Tranquill (pretty quick, huh)! And of course, in the United States the Pokémon: Black and White plot continued with the sixth episode, “Dreams by the Yard Full!” Featuring the new Pokemon Munna and Musharna, Oshawott defeated Pansage in battle with a well-timed Razor Shell and earned its team the Trio Badge. Later, Cilan, Ash, and Iris ventured into the abandoned Dreamyard accompanied by scientist Fennel, who specializes in Dream Smoke energy.

Next week in Japan, the Pokémon: Best Wishes anime is supposed to continue with "Team Rocket VS Team Plasma (Part One)!" However, because of the recent earthquake "Sendai," it may not and the entire Best Wishes series may be pushed back into hiatus until further notice. T.V. Tokyo currently isn't announcing any programming for the upcoming weeks. We will have to wait for March 17th, the date of which the episode goes to air. Moving forward, broadcasting on March 19th in the USA is "Snivy Plays Hard to Catch!" The episode revolves around a renegade female Snivy that Ash spots and wants to catch. However, in battle, the Snivy proves to be a formidable adversary as it has mastered the move "Attract," rendering most of Ash's male team unable to even attack.

Because many people have sent me emails asking which lucky six Pokemon are on my team, I'll tell you! My current team is my starter Samurott, Leavanny, Lilligant (she's actually surprisingly useful...), Scraggy (armed with an Everstone to prevent his overdue evolution), Zoroark, and Unfezant. I'm thinking about dropping someone to get my Musharna on my team, but that will definitely happen after the Elite Four. I was hoping to have all three starters on my team, but I don't know when or if that will happen now. I'm pretty happy with everyone, especially  Leavanny, my secret powerhouse.

Just a little food for thought, but Sendai earthquake is one of the worst natural disasters to ever affect Japan. The death toll is currently over 1,000, with thousands still missing or unaccounted for. The event has also triggered an explosion at one of Japan's nuclear power plants, leaving officials concerned about the possibility of a meltdown.

Keep sending Japan your "Best Wishes" like I know you already have been!
